A Scissor Lift is a safe lifting platform used to afford temporary access to elevated and inaccessible regions for persons and equipment. The equipment provides vertical movement by using a crisscross or scissors-like pattern of linked folding supports. When you move upward, you put pressure on the lowest set of supports, which causes the rest of the structure to lengthen. Scissor lifts are designed to lift a certain amount of weight and can be put up and operated by a single person. This feature sets them apart from other large construction machinery, such as cranes. They're sometimes performed for things like surface preparation, coating, and inspection.
